There was talk some months ago of federating the group hosting. Multiple !GNUsocial instances all share the message storage and distribution of !Fedgroups, and if one host fails it's detected by the other hosts who take over for it.

  @cyberkiller I worry about the !Fedgroups I host on sn.jonkman.ca since I know how solid, stable and reliable the infrastructure is. I think every !SysAdmin has those worries.
