   It's been a long time since I read Ender's Game; it seemed that the tone of the novel changed about two-thirds through. It was a good read at the start, with new ideas and good storytelling, but it didn't sustain that through to the end.

      There was another Orson Scott Card novel (I don't remember the title) that started off with the protagonist appearing to be a superman, but it devolved into a fantasy story of magic and spirits that wasn't made apparent at the start.
