@mmn I like the term "non-free", even though the plugin's SW license may be FAIF. The service the plugin connects to (Gravatar, Twitter, Facebook) is non-free, as it does not allow the user to be free from tracking. The plugin's sole purpose is to connect to the tracking service, and no amount of software fixes to the plugin can give the user freedom from tracking, so the plugin is non free.

@mmn "plugins bad" sounds like malware or perhaps a comment on the poor quality of the code, neither of which applies
