Maybe I actually am just becoming a huge geonerd, but #geoblankies seem like one of the coolest things in the world right now—and I'm eager for my child to get to the point where he could appreciate one.

I've been getting more involved with #OpenStreetMap recently; and I can't help thinking that, if someone had introduced me to something like this when I was in school, it would have helped me care a LOT more about #geography: http://developer.mapquest.com/web/products/open/tools/guide

Why I Support Free Software
This is one of the big reasons I'm involved in the Free Software movement, too: in short, we're removing the `certification bottleneck' between education and self-actualisation.

If you can get past the crazy layout, these 2 pages are a nice caricature of the #certification bottleneck: http://dresdencodak.com/2011/02/23/dark-science-08/ http://dresdencodak.com/2011/04/19/dark-science-09/
