Sadly, the article does not seem to understand the purpose of the blockchain: nonrepudiability. Transactions in the blockchain are *not* anonymous, they are *verifiable*. Voting online may be OK for things like requesting more frequent garbage collection, but almost any issue (even garbage collection) is susceptible to voter coercion -- maybe the garbage collectors have a stake in the outcome, and won't pick up your garbage if you don't vote according to their demands.
