All medical procedures carry risk. Medical doctors freely discuss them with patients. Unscientific medicine, including chiropractic, also carries risk. However, chiropractors have done little to assess the risk, are dismissive when it is raised, and rarely discuss it with patients. Caveat emptor. "How safe are the vigorous neck manipulations done by chiropractors… -

Very interesting: Kansas Board of Regents university personnel policy weakly defines "improper use of social media" as grounds for discipline, including faculty. Policy under review, but stands for now.

Excellent graphical aid for figuring out of that "supplement" you are taking is scientifically worth it, or not. http://io9.com/how-many-of-your-health-supplements-are-actually-snake-1492960177

On today's “Everything you ever wanted to know,” on North Texas Public Radio, there is so much pseudoscience about vitamin C and the human immune system. This is the problem with a well-meaning but credulous host taking calls from the general public. That works fine for subjective questions like, “Where is the best comic store?” but not at all well for da… -

Climate change denialists yet again forget how winter works. At a much deeper level, they fail to understand how more average heat content in the earth puts more water into the atmosphere and contributes to intense winter storm conditions (that water has to go someplace!)

For instance, media uploading on Choqok still requires third-party sites that I don't like to us. Why not just be able to upload using the social service's native API? GNU Social and Pump.io both define this quite clearly. -

OK, got choqok working and added both my GNU Social and my Pump.io accounts. Very nice, so far! Still think I prefer clients like Yaics, Dianara, and Pumpa for now. -

A fine opinion, but one which misses a key point: while one is free to believe in intelligent design, it is not science; it is religion. Do not confuse the two. If you have to cite the Bible at any point in your opinion, is is demonstrably Judeo-Christian monotheism. Intelligent Design makes no useful predictions (it is an argument from ignorance, a logical falla… -
