   We bought a six-pack of sodas recently (the first in *years*), and as my son threw the yoke into the #trash, I remembered aloud: "when I was a kid, we were always told to cut all of those rings because otherwise they'd strangle animals in the oceans..., and I still don't understand why we couldn't just *not dump them in the ocean*.     I remember seeing Diane Torr on one of the tabloid talkshows when I was in my very early #teens, before I really started developing "man-erisms" myself. Gender-play has always been a very conscious (and conscientious) thing for me since about then; however stupid those shows were overall, listening to her probably did help me guide the formation of my adult self and relationship with the world outside my own head.
