There wasn't enough !Sriracha, and the underlying jerky was awful. I think beef-jerky-flavoured Sriracha would be an improvement. -

There are four ways in which to mount drive rails on this drive, only the last one of which is correct. !grrr -

Hmm. Even though I selected different !Listening groups from the drop-down list, the links on that message all point to the one on http://sn.theru.org/index.php/group/179/id I'm gonna have to upgrade my !StatusNet to !GNUsocial so I can properly participate in bug hunting... -

Make sure you have USB3 compatible cables that haven't failed in mysterious ways. Someone in @GTALUG had that problem not so long ago: http://gtalug.org/pipermail/talk/2015-October/002133.html -

Sorry if the extended downtime of sn.jonkman.ca and s.russwurm.org caused any problems. The server experienced an involuntary upgrade of, well, everything. !SysAdmin !selfhost -

I'm not sure how to reconcile this @ArsTechnica report that the #NSA is deprecating #ECC with Schneier's assertion that the #NSA is implementing quantum-secure !crypto algorithms. http://arstechnica.com/security/2015/10/nsa-advisory-sparks-concern-of-secret-advance-ushering-in-cryptoapocalypse/ Also, note the sensastionalist but amusing (and nothing to do with cryptograpy) photo illustration on this article. -

Check out #pfSense. I needed it while I was transitioning from a DSL to Cable connection, but I think I'll keep it as my primary firewall https://www.pfsense.org/ Requires a dedicated PC with at least two network cards, tho. Don't know if a #SingleBoard computer is up to the task -- my 350MHz PIII wasn't. -

@rudism Alarming. But you're right, for the last few years I've made non-commercial clients rely on MS's own AV. Commercial clients have all had commercial AV suites over which I've had no say. -

@ericxdu23 Yes, I've used ClamAV to scan clients' Windows computers by booting them with Linux on a USB drive. Handy, and a guaranteed clean boot. -

Oh no, AVG has become evil. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/09/21/avg_freemium_browsing_history_slurp/ They were the anti-virus app I recommended to Windows users, and I was a multi-PC subscriber of their suite for years (until I finally switched off my last Win box). -
