The Eudyptula Challenge is a series of programming exercises for the Linux kernel, that start from a very basic "Hello world" kernel module, moving on up in complexity to getting patches accepted into the main Linux kernel source tree. http://sn.jonkman.ca/url/11019 -

Sorry, thought you were trying to recover data from a physically damaged USB stick. If the memory has only one good read/write left in it, then the thorough read/writing that #fsck does might just brick it forever. But if you're fixing a logical (filesystem) problem then #dosfsck is your friend. -

Using #fsck on a USB stick may cause more harm than good. Look at something like #PhotoRec instead http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec -

(/me goes back to check other instances for my deleted messages) Hmm… You're right… Since deletions *do* work across the #Twitterbridge I figured they would work across federated instances too. !TIL -

Deleting a notice propagates through the !Fediverse. Deletions even cross the #Twitterbridge, erasing your Tweets so they can't be read by millions. -

I was curious why, in less than 20 years, minimum acceptable key sizes have gone from 1024 bits to 4096 bits. That certainly doesn't scale according to Moore's Law. Also, I wonder why there is a constant set in the GnuPG code to limit key generation to 4096 bits. Surely software techniques for working with numbers larger than machine word size have been around forever? -

My key uses DSA and it's difficult to set GnuPG to do digest hashing with anything other than SHA1 and still expect compatibility. That, more than the key length, is making think of generating another key. 0xD2CCE5EA !crypto
